General Tso Chickpea Bowl

Try out this Asian inspired plant-based bowl to satisfy your cravings!

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup frozen broccoli
  • 1 cup canned chickpeas
  • 1/2 cup chopped white onion
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/4 cup Trader Joe's General Tso Sauce
  • 1 cup cooked brown rice
  • sesame seeds
  • water

Instructions :

1. Add water and broccoli to the pan. While the broccoli is thawing, cut the white onion and add it to the pan. Add more water to make sure everything is covered
2. Microwave/cook rice and set it aside to cool down once it is done
3. Add the chickpeas and a tbsp of salt to the pan. Make sure you rinse them to remove additional salt and starch
4. Put the broccoli on a separate plate (we will be adding it later)
5. Add the general Tso sauce to the pan, and mix everything to make sure the sauce is evenly distributed
6. Once everything is ready, add brown rice, broccoli, and chickpeas, and top with some sesame seeds
